Civil engineers are at the forefront of planning, designing, constructing, maintaining and improving infrastructural facilities like roads, railroads, airports, bridges, harbours, channels, dams, irrigation projects, pipelines, power plants and water and sewage systems. Whilst catering for the future needs of the community, they also take on the responsibility of protecting the public and environmental health by inspecting projects to ensure regulatory compliance by using the latest technologies and materials.
